The globally renowned Robertson Valley, 140km from Cape Town, is known as the valley of wine and roses. It is situated along the Breede River and the Langeberg Mountain Range and is known for cold winters and sunny summers. Although summer temperatures can be high, it has south-easterly winds which have a cooling effect on the vineyards.
This ensures the grapes ripen evenly and in perfect balance. Robertson soils have the highest free limestone content in South Africa which is ideal for winemaking as this drives the important pH structure required for fruit balance.
