We are proud to announce that Master Chef Nooror and Mr. Karl Steppe, the visionary founders of Blue Elephant Group, have been honoured with the prestigious “Officer of the Order of Leopold” at the residence of the Ambassador of Belgium. This esteemed award recognises their over 40 years of dedicated service to Belgium and their outstanding efforts in promoting Thai cuisine and culture worldwide.
The journey began with the opening of the first Blue Elephant Restaurant in Brussels in 1980. Since then, Blue Elephant has become synonymous with authentic Thai cuisine, celebrated for its high-quality ingredients and traditional recipes.
The Order of Leopold, named after its founder King Leopold I, is Belgium’s oldest and highest honorary order of knighthood, established on 11th July 1832. This honour is a testament to the remarkable contributions of Master Chef Nooror and Mr. Karl Steppe to the culinary world.

We are thrilled to announce that our CEO, Mr. Anil Chandhok, has been honored with the prestigious Cruz de Oficial de Orden del Mérito Civil (Officers Gold Cross – Civil Merit Medal) by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, acting on behalf of King Felipe of Spain!
This recognition was part of the ceremony held at the Residence of the Ambassador in New Delhi, where Mr. Chandhok was celebrated for his outstanding contribution to promoting Spanish gastronomic culture in India.
Mr. Chandhok has played a pivotal role in introducing and establishing gourmet food products in our markets, greatly enriching India’s culinary landscape with Spain’s exquisite flavors – most notably the olive oil we have all come to love.
